About Hazii

Hazii is a Spanish trap and R&B artist born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised between the Dominican Republic, Pennsylvania, and Las Vegas. His stage name is a play on the word “hazy,” reflecting life’s foggy, dark moments that still hold deep meaning. Inspired by watching his cousin battle rap, Hazii’s musical journey is grounded in self-expression and cultural roots.

Initially making music in English, he reconnected with his Latin heritage to create music in Spanish, finding joy and authenticity in his sound. His music blends Spanish trap with smooth R&B, capturing whatever emotion he’s feeling in the moment. A proud live vocalist and self-engineered recording artist, Hazii creates deeply personal songs about pain, love, and growth, crafted to uplift and inspire.

Motivated by the dream of buying his mother a home and living life on his own terms, Hazii is focused on artistic, personal, and financial freedom. His tracks like “Adiós” and “Hoy” showcase his evolution and passion. Influenced by Frank Ocean and driven to one day surpass even Bad Bunny, Hazii is building something real and unforgettable.

Exclusive Interview with Hazii

ESC: What’s your real name and where are you from originally?

Hazii: I’m from Brooklyn, New York. I’ve also lived in the Dominican Republic, Pennsylvania, and Las Vegas.

ESC: What does the name “Hazii” mean or represent to you?

Hazii: It’s a play on “hazy” — how life and emotions get foggy, dark, but meaningful.

ESC: How did you first get into music?

Hazii: My cousin used to be a battle rapper. I’d watch him battle rap with his friends all the time.

ESC: Who or what influenced your sound early on?

Hazii: I was tired of hearing the same repetitive music. I started as an English artist but went back to my roots with Spanish. It took practice, but I’m happier making music this way. Views don’t matter to me — if the beat’s good, I’m making a song to it.

ESC: How would you describe your sound?

Hazii: Spanish trap and R&B.

ESC: What’s your creative process like?

Hazii: I pick a beat I like, then put my emotions and feelings into it. Whether I’m sick or not, it’s freeform — when you’re in the mood, you’re in the mood. I’m a live vocalist who mixes and masters all my own vocals.

ESC: What’s been your biggest challenge?

Hazii: Everything sounds the same these days. Finding a producer who stands out is tough.

ESC: What motivates you to create?

Hazii: My biggest motivator is getting my mom her dream house.

ESC: What themes do you return to in your songs?

Hazii: Pain, love, and growth.

ESC: What releases are you most proud of?

Hazii: My first release and songs like “Adiós” and “Hoy” because they show my progression.

ESC: What do you want people to feel when they hear your music?

Hazii: I want them to like it, but it’s not for everyone.

ESC: Who are your dream collaborators?

Hazii: Myself — as one — and Frank Ocean, who inspired my style a lot.

ESC: Where do you see your career in 1 year? In 5 years?

Hazii: In 1 year, I want freedom — doing what I want, no bowing down to anyone. In 5 years, bigger than Bad Bunny.

ESC: What message do you want to send through your music?

Hazii: An escape people can relate to, to help get them out of pain or start their day, and to inspire following their dreams.

ESC: What do you do when you’re not making music?

Hazii: I work a 9-5.

ESC: How do you want people to remember the name “Hazii”?

Hazii: Someone who did what they wanted and is remembered for who they truly were. I don’t care what others think — I’m just me.
