Intro
At just 15 years old, Oregon-based artist Vi5ion is already carving out his own lane in the hip-hop and electronic scene. His latest single, “1 2 3 4,” captures a spark of pure inspiration — one that hit right after attending a bbno$ concert and hearing Mac Miller’s “Knock Knock” at home. That moment pushed him to open FL Studio for the very first time and start creating.
Now signed under Electric Sunshine Cult, Vi5ion continues to prove that passion and authenticity have no age limit. We sat down with him to talk about the story behind “1 2 3 4,” his creative process, and what’s next for this rising young artist.
Interview
1. Let’s start with the moment that sparked it all — can you tell us more about that night after the bbno$ concert and how “1 2 3 4” came to life?
After that night, I came home and in the car I was listening to Mac Miller’s “Knock Knock.” I was thinking about it, loaded up FL Studio, and just started going. Even without writing anything, it inspired me — the idea came into my head as soon as I heard the beat. The funniest part was just trying to stay on beat, saying “1 2 3 4.”
2. This was the first track you ever made in FL Studio — what was it like learning the program and creating something from scratch?
It wasn’t straight into making it. It was a late night — I watched videos and used Discord to meet people who showed me how to add presets and what to do. I just kept working until I was happy with it.
3. Your track blends hip-hop and electronic energy really naturally. What artists or sounds influence that balance in your music?
Definitely bbno$, 1nonly, and Juice WRLD — they inspired me a lot in the beginning.
4. You’re only 15 and already making major moves with Electric Sunshine Cult. How has it felt to start your career at such a young age?
It feels like I have a step ahead of people who might start later in life. It’s given me a better shot to learn both the small and big details that come along with being an artist — it’s a step up for sure.
5. You mentioned your music is about connecting with people and inspiring positive change. What kind of messages do you hope listeners take from your songs?
I don’t think my songs have clear messages right now — I just want listeners to walk away with whatever emotion they feel. In the future, I want to develop that more, so my music leaves a bigger emotional impact.
6. A lot of fans love your earlier tracks like “NO CAPP” and “Take My Time.” How do you feel your sound has evolved from those releases to “1 2 3 4”?
Actually, “1 2 3 4” came first — then “NO CAPP” and “Take My Time.” Yung Gravy and bbno$ inspired those later songs. Their ad-libs and style really helped guide me to where the songs are now.
7. Tell us a bit about your upcoming album — we heard it includes features from artists with 1K–10K followers. What can fans expect from that project?
It’s got a lot of niche underground artists who each have their own story. The album’s called “Loser” — it’s my first full project, with 10 tracks dropping on November 5th. Expect to see more from those artists too — they’re gonna be around the community a lot more.
8. Who are some artists you’d love to collaborate with in the future, whether big names or other underground creators?
Definitely Bunni or Jades Archive — they’re two I really want to work with. Also more from the underground scene like 405Diego and
9. What’s been the biggest challenge for you as a young independent artist — and how do you stay motivated to keep creating?
The hardest part is hearing what people think when I switch genres. Some fans might think it’s corny, but I appreciate the people who support it. Without music, I wouldn’t have a hobby — working on the album really brought some spice to my life.
10. Finally, what’s next for Vi5ion? Any hints about future releases, videos, or performances coming soon?
Future releases are definitely coming. People like my rap stuff, but I’m moving more toward alt rock and alt indie. I think fans will enjoy it. I’d like to make a special Christmas song and maybe shoot a video for it — but that’s not confirmed yet.
